Audits and Environmental Surveys

Environmental Licensing

Companies covered by the environmental license are identified in Decree-Law 194/2000 and are defined according to the nature of their activities and / or production capacity (Annex I of that law). With the publication of this law new plants, or those which are subject to "substantial changes" were subject to obtaining the environmental license, as a requirement for licensing of its operation.
For existing installations, the IPPC law defines the obligation to obtain an environmental license but predicted an adjustment period until 30 October 2007.

Industrial licensing

The installation, alteration and operation of industrial establishments are subject to industrial licensing, regulated by Decreto-lei n.º 209/2008Of 29 October, the industrial licensing is aimed at preventing the risks and disadvantages resulting from the operation of industrial facilities, public health and workers, the safety of persons and property, hygiene and safety of the workplace, the quality of environment and a correct planning, a framework of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

The industrial licensing process is managed by a coordinating entity, different depending on the classification of the economic activity of the applicant, requesting advice to entities with responsibilities in the areas of environment, hygiene and health, and safety and health at work.

Licensing waste operations


Plans Waste Management

The implementation of a Waste Management Plan provides for compliance with the legal framework of the requirements of Waste Management established by Decree-Law No. 178/2006, of 5 September, as well as the specific legislation for each type of waste .

Solvent Management Plan

Preparation of a Solvent Management Plan (PGS) is provided for in Decree-Law No. 127/2013 of 30 August, to the activities contained in Annex VII and exceeding the annual consumption threshold set out in Table 53 of the same attachment.

This law applies to activities using organic solvents and consumption thresholds higher than those set out in Annex VII, such as:

The PGS must be sent to the respective Commission for Coordination and Regional Development (CCDR) until April 30 of each year, with the elements for the previous calendar year.
